Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!   

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Charleston community

and to

Wesley United Methodist Church. 

We invite you to look through these pages to learn

about the mission and ministries of our church. 

As a congregation, and as individuals,

we seek to grow in love for God and neighbor

as we share the love of God in Jesus Christ throughout

the Coles County region and beyond.

We hope that you will join us on our journey!

We invite you to begin by worshiping with us

on Sunday mornings. Our services are at 8:30 and 10:45 am. 

Sunday School classes for ages 4 - adult are offered at 9:50.

As a United Methodist congregation,

we have an open communion table.

We believe that this practice of open table

fellowship follows Jesus' own practice of radical hospitality.

We also invite you to participate in our

Sunday School classes, 

small groups and caring ministries

for people of all ages. 

We also work with the Wesley Foundation

to be in ministry with students, faculty,

and staff of Eastern Illinois University

and Lake Land College.

The Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry is

headquartered in the brown and stone building

in front of our building. 

Their 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night worship services

are held in our fellowship hall. You can check
